Trauma & Grief/Loss

“I know why the caged bird sings.” - Maya Angelou

Trauma and grief is a whole body experience which can stun or paralyze an individual long after the traumatic event(s) occurs. Trauma makes us feel like we are going through the motions and unable to live in the present. We may start to feel and live like we cannot survive it - despite actually being built to withstand unimaginable tragedies as human beings. By obtaining effective strategies, skills, and support, you can build resilience and make this happen. Feeling and regulating your emotions in a nonjudgmental therapeutic space allows you to decrease unhelpful coping mechanisms like avoidance and instead safely move through the trauma - not around it.

Breathe again. Get control again. Live again.

Trauma and grief takes many forms and includes panic, numbness, restlessness, and impulsivity. It can be a single occurrence or multiple events. Our trauma-informed therapists will support you where you’re at and utilize evidence-based practices to promote healing and success.

If you are experiencing interfering symptoms on your functioning, know that you don’t have to be on your own with them. You don’t have to be alone - our Certified Trauma, Grief, and Loss therapists are here to help.
