Professional Bio.
Katie’s main objective is to support you in gaining a deeper understanding of your emotional challenges, identify and heal childhood, past, or current trauma and/or challenges, and empower you to make healthy and desired changes to regain power and control in your life.
Katie’s clinical practice and experience focuses on trauma, anxiety, betrayal, and addictive disorders along with other mental health disorders. She works with a wide range of clientele serving adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors providing individual, family, and couples therapy, as well as pre-marital counseling. Katie also specializes in inner child work focusing on how the inner child holds the key to intimacy, recovery from addiction, physical and emotional well-being, and the creativity and wisdom of our inner selves; our true selves. In addition to private practice, Katie has prior experience working in clinical roles in education at high school and university settings.
Katie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. She is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in California. Katie is working towards three clinical certifications: Eye Movement Desensitization and Restoration (EMDR) Therapy, Certified Partner Trauma Therapy (CPTT), and Certified Sex Addiction Therapy (CSAT).
